What is Global Recycling Day?
Global Recycling Day reminds us of the crucial role recycling plays in preserving Earth’s finite resources. With that in mind, it’s a call to action for each of us to recycle more, and for businesses and political leaders to collaborate on accessible recycling infrastructure.
It’s also a chance to reframe waste. Because every plastic bottle, can or scrap has the potential to become something new too. It’s this resource mindset that will help us sail closer to a circular economy.
How does Ocean Bottle support recycling?
To do our bit, we’re proud to support recycling efforts in three key ways…
- We work with plastic collection partners in areas worst-affected by pollution around the world, using the funds from each Ocean Bottle order to collect 1,000 ocean-bound plastic bottles .
- We fund the construction of waste recycling systems in regions without the infrastructure to help separate, process and recycle plastic waste.
- We give the recycled material that’s collected a second life by using it in the base of each Ocean Bottle.
