At Ocean Bottle, everything we do starts with one goal: leaving the ocean better than we found it.
That means stopping plastic before it reaches the ocean in the first place.
We’re proud to announce CleanHub as our strategic plastic collection partner, helping drive our mission to stop the equivalent of 10 billion plastic bottles from entering the ocean by 2030.
Who is CleanHub?
CleanHub helps stop plastic where it matters most: before it reaches the ocean.
Together with local waste management partners, CleanHub funds and tracks plastic collection across high-risk pollution hotspots around the world. That means less plastic burned, buried, or dumped, and more financial support flowing into the communities doing the work on the ground.
We’ve worked with CleanHub as a collection partner for over a year. Now, we’re stepping into a deeper partnership together and scaling our impact even further.
How it works
Every Ocean Bottle funds the collection of the equivalent of 1,000 plastic bottles before they reach the ocean. That’s 25 lbs [11.4 kg] of plastic waste collected with every purchase.
Through our partnership with CleanHub, we fund plastic collection directly at source. CleanHub tracks and verifies every kilogram collected, while local collectors earn fair income protecting their environment and communities.
Why CleanHub?
Because they go where the problem is biggest.
In many coastal communities, the plastic washing up on shore has little to no value. Too low-grade, too difficult, too overlooked for traditional recycling systems.
CleanHub works in places where waste infrastructure hasn’t caught up with the scale of plastic pollution. They focus on collecting plastic that’s most at risk of being burned, dumped, or washed into the ocean.
This is plastic traditional systems often ignore because there’s little financial incentive to collect it. CleanHub changes that. By creating value for the plastic others ignore, local collectors are empowered to gather and sort waste before it reaches the ocean. Creating dignified jobs, strengthening local waste systems, and stopping pollution before it starts.
Recyclable material is given a second life, while anything that can’t be recycled is safely managed to stop it leaking back into waterways or being burned in open fires.
It’s a simple idea with powerful ripple effects: cleaner coastlines, stronger communities, and more plastic stopped before it ever reaches the sea.
That’s exactly the kind of impact we believe in at Ocean Bottle. Not reacting to pollution once it’s in the ocean. Stopping it at source.
Data-driven impact you can trust
Impact should be measurable.
For every kilogram of plastic collected, CleanHub tracks verified data across the entire process, from collection through to recovery. Their work is independently verified by TÜV SÜD to ISO 14064-3 and ISO 17029 standards, giving full transparency into the impact connected to every Ocean Bottle.
Because real impact shouldn’t live in vague promises. It should be visible, traceable, and accountable.
Stronger together
Real change doesn’t happen alone.
Our partnership with CleanHub is about building something bigger than plastic collection. Together, we’re helping create long-term systems that protect the ocean, support communities, and drive lasting change where it’s needed most.
For us, that’s what meaningful impact looks like. Thoughtful. Transparent. Built to last.
Here’s to making serious waves together.
