Currents: First Wave

Ocean Bottle has collaborated with Liberty to create a collection of reusable bottles, featuring designs drawn from their 150-year archive. Each bottle funds the collection of 11.4kg of plastic waste in coastal communities around the world - turning design into direct, positive impact. The First Wave collection marks the beginning of Currents: a long-term collaboration inspired by the movement of ideas, materials and cultures across the ocean.

Enzo Serenade

Characterised by its eclectic mix of motifs and design styles, Enzo Serenade was hand-drawn in the Liberty studio and takes cues from the creative oeuvre of Arts and Crafts luminary Lewis Foreman Day. With a strong focus on decoration, the design’s imaginative flowers and prominent foliage become vehicles of graphic experimentation, incorporating intricate linework adorned with a myriad of layered details.

Ocean Bottle reinterprets Enzo Serenade as a reflection of craft heritage and coastal landscapes. From forest paths to coastal waterways, this design mimics the routes and practices that connect communities with the natural world around them.

Morley Blossom

Drawing on ten archival floral prints from the 1930s, Morley Blossom weaves together a patchwork of Liberty's rich design heritage. Primroses, forget-me-nots, daisies, anemones, and violets are effortlessly layered to create a dreamy, nostalgic composition, where abundant blooms and scattered leaves evoke the charm of a vibrant wildflower meadow.

For Ocean Bottle, Morley Blossom mirrors where rivers meet the ocean in a landscape of water, flora, and movement. This design echoes the vibrance of the coast and the abundance of life found along the shoreline.

Prospect Vista

Inspired by the stylistic hallmarks of the 1960s Art Nouveau revival era, Prospect Vista was hand-painted in the Liberty studio and echoes motifs found in Bernard Nevill’s ever-popular Prospect Road pattern. Bursting with retro charm, the design’s prominent petals are framed by bold outlines and enriched with flat colour, flowing curves, stripes, scribbles, and playful dashes.

Ocean Bottle reconsiders Prospect Vista as a reflection of a world where flowering species and vibrant ecosystems bloom. Connected by rivers that flow from the forest to the ocean, this design depicts the extraordinary botanical world of our tropical rainforests.
